NEW YORK (UPI) - A woman making a telephone call on a New York street was struck in the head and killed yesterday by a flower pot that was knocked off an eighth-floor window ledge by lightning.

Amelia Lynch, 28, of Brooklyn died after the pot fell on her head, police said.

The woman died at the scene.
